Hovik Abrahamyan’s resignation from the position of National Assembly
Chair is simply a rearrangement ahead of elections – Armenian President
Serzh Sargsyan is moving one knight from one place to another so that
the coming elections can be reproduced with fraud, said Free Democrats
party member, former foreign minister of Armenia Alexander Arzumanyan,
speaking to Epress.am.
“These changing of places are aimed at coordinating and reproducing
fraud during elections. And whoever interferes with Serzh Sargsyan
on that road, he will remove them. He will also take certain actions
for show [as a formality]: he will dismiss a few corrupt officials,
but again I say, there won’t be any substantial changes. These are
[simply] preparations for the elections,” he said.
