MOSCOW. – During French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s regional visit to
South Caucasus, the main emphasis will be placed on Armenia because “he
desperately needs the Armenians’ support,” prominent Georgian-origin
French journalist Giorgi Popkhadze stated.
“Nicolas Sarkozy’s rating is 26 percent, which is terrible, and he
desperately needs France’s Armenian lobby which is very influential,”
Popkhadze noted, Vzglyad Russian newspaper writes.
Nicolas Sarkozy will visit Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia in early
October.
