Ali Hasanov, Head of the Department of public-political issues,
Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, commented on Russian troops’
participation in the Sept. 21 military parade in Yerevan.

“The two states have bilateral agreements. Russia’s policy in Armenia
is its internal affair. We are concerned with the Russian army’s
attitude to Azerbaijan. We have no serious discontent in this respect.

The Russian army recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and
sovereignty. It does not attempt violations of these rights and,
I am sure, will not do it in future,” Hasanov said.

The troops of Russian Military Base #102 stationed in Gyumri, Armenia,
participated in the military parade in Yerevan on the occasion of
the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
