Armenia needs to re-establish civil independent in the country,
Chief Editor of the local daily Haykakan Zhamanak has said

Speaking at a reception organized by the opposition alliance Armenian
National Congress on the occasion of Independence Day, Nikol Pashinyan
said that they will spare no efforts in their fight.

“Today, we must re-establish Armenia’s civil independence,” said he.

“We have gathered here to look at each other and say that no one will
stop us on that way; nothing will stop us.”

“And we will fight so long until each family lays a table on the
occasion of independence on September 21,” said he.

Nikol Pashinyan was released this May after serving his sentence
for organizing mass events during the 2008 post-election unrest that
claimed at least ten lives.

Further, Pashinyan said that the Armenian citizens have one home. “And
that home is the Liberty Square from where that holiday must be taken
to the families of each citizen of the Republic of Armenia,” said he.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
