WASHINGTON. – Armenian Embassy in U.S. together with the council of
St Mary church organized a celebration in Washington dedicated to
the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. Ambassador Margaryan
delivered a speech stressing that Armenian independent state was
established at the expense of great efforts.
The Ambassador stressed that Armenia’s independence promoted
preservation of the Armenian identity in Diaspora.
Famous Boston-based “Sayat-Nova” dance group also participated in
the event with a performance featuring Armenian history starting from
legends of Hayk and Vahagn up to independent Armenia.
