US to increase monetary assistance to Armenia

YEREVAN. – Two agreements on US monetary assistance to Armenia were
signed on Saturday in Yerevan.

The `Amendment No. 2 of the Agreement Between the US Government and
the Armenian Government on Assistance for More Competitive and
Diversified Private Sector’ and the `Amendment No. 2 of the Agreement
Signed Between the US Government and the Armenian Government on
Assistance for Improving Efficiency of Healthcare and Social Services’
were signed at the Armenian Ministry of Economy. These documents are
prepared by the American side, and with the objective of increasing
the assistance amounts by $8,310,000 and $8,791,720 respectively, the
Ministry’s pres service informed Armenian News.NEWS.am.

Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan and United States Agency
for International Development (USAID) Mission Director for Armenia Dr.
Jatinder Cheema signed the documents of the aforementioned 2
agreements, which were sealed in August 2010.

These agreements envision US governmental assistance, by way of USAID,
to the Armenian government in the abovementioned domains.
