Police Colonel Detained for Stealing Petrol

On August 26 Colonel Stepan Karakhanyan, the ex-commander of the 2nd
battalion of the Road Police, was arrested. He is charged with abuse
of authority and misappropriation, the Special Investigative Service
informs.

According to the August 25 press release of the Special Investigative
Service, to organize the activities of the Police in the regions, of
277,000 liters of petrol provided for police cars Stepan Karakhanyan
used 121,000 liters and misappropriated the rest.
