YEREVAN. – World and European Champion in Weightlifting Yuri Sargsyan
celebrated his 50th birthday at Continental restaurant in Yerevan on
Sunday, Hraparak newspaper reports. During the party, Sargsyan lifted
a bar before the guests. Even the birthday cake was in the form of
a bar. World Champion is Weightlifting Yuri Vardanyan also attended
the party.
Sargsyan, who has been living in Australia since 1994, often visits
Armenia and intends to return to homeland. Armenia’s President Serzh
Sargsyan and Prosecutor General sent him congratulatory messages and
a certificate of honor.
In his turn, Yuri Sargsyan conveyed the Armenian president a coin
with his profile, made in Australia.
