August 12, 2011

Traveling Notes, a cultural exchange program for young musicians,
is coming to Armenia starting August 13.

One of the most important aspects of Armenian culture is its music.

Many of the country’s classical music interpreters and composers have
reached international recognition.

Traveling Notes will form a full symphonic orchestra with highly
talented young musicians from different parts of the world, who will
study and perform together during twelve days of superior music making.

The program includes full orchestra rehearsals, sectionals,
master classes, a chamber music workshop, as well as several
concerts in a variety of venues and for very divergent audiences,
including disadvantaged children. The international faculty with top
professionals and experienced educators from different countries will
ensure a fantastic learning experience for all participants.

Emil Lazarian

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
