ARMENIAN DRIVERS WATCHED BY SURVEILLANCE CAMS

YEREVAN. – Surveillance cameras and traffic radar velometers are
being installed in the Armenian capital, said head of the traffic
police department, Colonel Norik Sargsyan.

According to him, traffic velometers will be installed in fifteen
streets, while surveillance cameras – in 10 major intersections.

“The government has already approved agreement with the Swedish
company, so the process has been launched,” he told the journalists
on Tuesday.

He added that in Armenia citizens can report about violations calling
the hotline 177.

Swedish Sensis Trafik, dealing with installation works, will make an
investment of 9.8 million Euros. Maintenance of equipment will also
be carried by Swedish experts.
