Yerevan. OREANDA-NEWS . July 19, 2011. The President noted that
decentralized cooperation plays a great role in the Armenian-French
high-level relations. I am glad that cooperation between Yerevan
and Lyon goes on and brings its contribution to the strengthening of
friendship between the two countries and two peoples. Armenian-French
friendship dates back centuries and our mutual sympathy allows our
compatriots to fully integrate into the French society, fully disclose
their potential and abilities.

I am confident that cooperation between Yerevan and Lyon will
develop through new initiatives and concrete programs, President
Serzh Sargsyan said.

The President of Armenia also expressed gratitude to Mayor Gerard
Collomb and members of the Council of Lyon for their consideration and
support for the Armenians and Armenian issue. Our people are grateful
to all those who comprehend our pain, who recognize and condemn the
Armenian Genocide and fight against its denial, President Sargsyan
underscored.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
