July 2, 2011 – 17:42 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net – Work towards resumption of Armenian community
activities in South Ossetia, ceased after 2008 war, will be launched
soon.

As the head of the community Esma Abayeva-Kulijanova reported, very
few Armenian families were left in the region after the war. `A census
will be organized to obtain specific data. We’re sorry the community
no longer exists. But we’re not losing hope to restore Armenian
community in South Ossetia,’ RES Ossetian information agency quoted
her as saying.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
