June 18, 2011 – 09:30 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net – New Media School project was launched on the
initiative of Zharang NGO.

As the author of the project and Zharang NGO member Karen Vrtanesyan
told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, the project will feature 4-week free
educational courses-seminars to provide participants with information
on blogs and blogging skills.

`The seminars welcome all Armenian- speaking persons aged 18-35.
Seminar participants will be selected in two stages; 1st -testing,
2nd- online interview. 12 to 16 persons will be selected for each
seminar. The courses will last till December,’ Mr. Vrtanesyan said.

Armenian bloggers Samvel Martirosyan and Artur Papyan will tutor at
New Media School.

In a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Armenian blogger
and journalist noted a curious tendency in the world of blogging.
`Blogs are fewer in number, yet those which are still operating got
more professional. If previously bloggers wrote in Russian, increasing
tendency for posting in Armenian is observed at present.’

The project is sponsored by ArmenTel company, providing necessary
territory and equipment.

Additional information is available at New Media School website.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
