ARCHITECT OF CHILE’S PRIVATE PENSION SYSTEM HOSTED AT THE ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT

Jose Piñera, the architect of Chile’s private pension system was
hosted today at the Armenian government. He has arrived in Armenia
at the invitation of the Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

Government’s press service told Armenpress that after the private
conversation with Jose Piñera, the head of the government said that
the guest arrived from Chile to share the experience existing in his
country. He said that country’s experience gives us an opportunity
on one hand understand better what difficulties those people face
who are implementing this reform stemming from Chile’s experience,
understand what are the best ways for overcoming difficulties.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Jose Piñera noted that though
he is in Armenia for the first time he has always been interested
in the history of Armenia. He said May 1 2011 Chile marked the 30th
anniversary of reforms in the pensions system. He said the pensions’
reforms influences on the reforms of other spheres. He presented
details about the reforms in the pensions’ system of Chile.

Afterward, the participants of the meeting exchanged thoughts.

Summing up the meeting Prime Minister Sargsyan thanked Jose Piñera
for interesting speech.
