Nazik Avdalyan’ s return to sport to be clear in 6 months

13:47 – 14.05.11

Weightlifting World Champion Nazik Avdalyan’s possible return to
sports will be clear in six months, her doctor says.

“We’ll be able to discuss the issue in six months after her bones get
strengthened and fuse together,” Karapet Momjyan, the head of Erebuni
Medical Center’s pathological service, told Tert.am.

Nazik Avdalyan was involved in a car accident on the Gyumri-Vanadzor
highway on April 26. She was immediately taken to the Erebuni Medical
Center with fractures in the back and ribs.

After a subsequent surgery, Avdalyan’s health condition has been
reported normal. Her doctor told Tert.am that she had been able to go
home on her own after being discharged from hospital.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
