On April 14 irrigation period will start in Ararat region but
companies which won a Millennium Challenges competition to renovate
the irrigation system have not yet ended their works. The construction
companies are supposed to finish their works in the autumn. While
these companies, with their old and exhausted machines and few workers,
inspire no hope they will ever do.
The issue was discussed with the Ararat governor Edir Barseghyan,
as well as Vice-Prime Minister Armen Grigoryan, and yesterday with
Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, who instructed to works
day and night to end the construction in time.
