The presence of political prisoners in Armenia is recorded by a number
of documents, reports and statements of international organizations.

The fact does not need additional proof, the first president of
Armenia Levon Ter-Petrossian stated.

At Armenian National Congress (ANC) rally, he dwelled on situation
with human rights and democracy in Armenia, as well as international
community’s response to the situation.

“The paradox is that ANC, fighting against Armenian dictatorship, is
also forced to wage a struggle with the inertness of international
organizations in charge of human rights defense and democracy
promotions,” the first president said.

Ter-Petrossian slammed the activity of the heads of CoE, EU, OSCE
Offices in Yerevan, as well as Armenian Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan’s
work methods.
