New Armenian first deputy defense minister appointed

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree to appoint David
Tonoyan First Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia, Mediamax agency
reported with reference to the presidential press service.

David Tonoyan has headed the Defense Policy Department under the
Armenian Ministry of Defense since 2007. He served in the internal
affairs of Armenia in 1992-1994. He has served in the Armed Forces of
Armenia since 1994.

Major-General Vladimir Gasparian was dismissed from his post and
appointed deputy defense minister upon the Armenian President’s
decree.
