ARMENIA ATTACHES IMPORTANCE TO COOPERATION WITH NATO

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan today received NATO Secretary
General’s Special Representative for South Caucasus and Central Asia
Robert Simmons, MFA press office reported.

Welcoming the guest Minister Nalbandyan said Armenia attaches
importance to mutually beneficial cooperation with NATO and is going
to strengthen it by paying special attention to Armenia-NATO IPAP.

Nalbandyan mentioned that Armenia will keep cooperation within the
framework of NATO Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (NATO/EAPC),
by taking part in peacekeeping operations, fight against terrorism,
liquidation of consequences of natural disasters.

In return, Simmons declared that NATO attaches importance to
cooperation with Armenia, and the Individual Partnership Program
gives large opportunities for maintaining the cooperation level.

The interlocutors said that the NATO disaster response exercise
“ARMENIA 2010” proceeding in these days in Armenia is a good example
of efficient cooperation.
