RUSSIANS, GEORGIANS, ARMENIANS PREVAIL AMONG REFUGEES IN POLAND

>From January 1 to August 5 2010, Poland’s corresponding authorities
received 3,417 applications for refugee status from foreign
citizens. According to official data, 2.396 applications were
submitted by Russian citizens, 624 by Georgians, 55 by Armenians,
reported “CAUCASUS PRESS”.

During the mentioned period, refugee status was granted to 30 citizens
of Russia, 2 citizens of Vietnam, 16 citizens of Belarus. “Tolerant
presence” permits were granted to 64 Russian nationals, 685 Georgian
nationals, 33 citizens of Vietnam, 12 citizens of Belarus and 53
citizens of Armenia.
