al Mughaysib hands over his credentials to Serzh Sargsyan

YEREVAN, MAY 11, ARMENPRESS: Newly appointed Ambassador of Qatar to
Armenia Ibrahim Abd al Rahman al Mughaysib handed over his credentials
to the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan (residence in Tehran).

Presidential press service told Armenpress that Serzh Sargsyan
congratulated the ambassador on assuming the mission, saying that
Armenia highlights development of cooperation with Qatar. The
president expressed hope that soon in the Qatar state with the
appointment of Armenian ambassador and activation of the work of the
inter-governmental commission a basis will be put for effective
partnership.

Ambassador al Mughaisib said that Qatar is interested in opportunities
of making investments in Armenia and is aimed at acquiring concrete
arrangements through mutual visits over the cooperation in different
spheres.

The parties exchanged thoughts over the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Armenian president considered the efforts of Azerbaijan to give
religious nature to the conflict inadmissible, expressing regret that
some Islamic countries often assist these attempts.

The ambassador said that Qatar supports the peaceful solution of the
Nagorno Karabakh issue and does not think that this conflict is of
religious nature.
