Despite the geographic distance, people of Armenia and Argentina enjoy
warm relations, thus encouraging the authorities to take action to
develop bilateral relations, Armenian Foreign Minister said.

"Development of relations and collaboration within international
institutions were in the focus of discussions," Edward Nalbandian said
at a joint news conference with his visiting counterpart Jorge Taiana.

For his part, Mr. Taiana said his country attaches importance to
establishment of Embassy in Armenia. "Buenos Aires wants to strengthen
ties with Yerevan. There is a numerous Armenian community in Argentina
and these people make a considerable contribution to development of
the country," he said.

The Argentine Minister also emphasized that Argentina stands for
peaceful resolution of Karabakh conflict.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
