May 14th, 2010, Yerevan, Armenia VivaCell-MTS, a subsidiary of
"Mobile TeleSystems" OJSC, reasserts its being culture’s friend
and announces its support in staging "Eugene Onegin" – the classical
opera by Russian composer Pyotr Tchaykovski, directed by film director
Vigen Chaldranyan and conductor Eduard Topchyan.

The staging is a new version of the famous opera to be performed in the
Aram Khachaturyan Concert Hall. Despite Tchaykovsi’s works have been
staged for numerous times, the temptation for a new interpretation is
always there. One of the latest in Armenia was prepared in the 1960s
by renowned Armenian theater director Hrachya Ghaplanyan. This time it
is read by one of the well-known modern-day Armenian movie directors,
Vigen Chaldranyan.

This version dares for experiments anticipating more interactivity
between the actors and the spectators, involving the audience in the
action on stage, and having the musicians located in the first rows
of the hall.

"Arts bring beauty to the mind and soul. And the role of the musical
art in that can never be overestimated, and, hence, the classical
masterpieces, created throughout the times, are important assets.

These works loaded with values help teach new generations what is
beautiful and what is good, teach love and dedication. VivaCell-MTS
highly appreciates everyone’s devotion to the development of the
culture," said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.
