Belmont, Mass. — Prof. James R. Russell, Mashtots Professor of
Armenian Studies at Harvard University, will give a lecture entitled
Magic From Greater Iran: The Parthian-Armenian-Russian Triangle
at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, at the National Association for
Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR) Center, 395 Concord Ave. in
Belmont. Prof. Russell’s lecture will be given in honor of the 90th
birthday of Prof. Richard N. Frye.

The lecture will consider the web of word, meaning, and sound and
explores the ways our minds and spirits can still be revived by the
heritage of wonder that emerges from the Iranian-Armenian-Russian
triangle.

Admission to the event is free (donations appreciated). The NAASR
Center is located opposite the First Armenian Church and next to the
U.S. Post Office. Ample parking is available around the building and
in adjacent areas.
