ON MAY 12 EDITORS OF 2 U.S. ARMENIAN WEEKLIES TO TALK ABOUT THEIR RECENT TRIPS TO TURKEY

WATERTOWN, MAY 7, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. Armenian Reporter
editor Emil Sanamyan and Armenian Weekly editor Khatchig Mouradian
will talk about their recent trips to Turkey at the Armenian Library
and Museum of America (ALMA) on Wednesday, May 12. The event will be
moderated by Marc Mamigonian, NAASR’s director of academic affairs.

Sanamyan and Mouradian visited Istanbul, Ankara, Kars, and Ani in March
2010. During their visit, they met and interviewed Turkish political
leaders (including president Abdullah Gul and foreign minister Ahmet
Davutoglu), policymakers, and journalists.

According to , in April, Weekly editor Khatchig
Mouradian made a second trip to Turkey, giving a commemoration lecture
in Istanbul on April 24 and taking part in a symposium on the Armenian
genocide and reparations in Ankara on April 25, as well as attending
the commemoration events in Istanbul.
