ARMENIAN BUDGET REVENUES Q1 GROW BY 17.4% TO 164.1 BILLION DRAMS

YEREVAN, April 29, /ARKA/. Armenian budget revenues in the first three
months of 2010 grew by 17.4% compared to the same time period last
year to 164.1 billion Drams, the country’s ministry of finance said
today. The growth, in terms of money, amounted to 24.3 billion Drams,
it said.

According to the ministry, 127.1 billion Drams were collected as taxes
and duties, by 8% more than projected for the first quarter. Some
63.5 billion Drams, half of taxes and duties, were collected as VAT,
by 24.4% billion Drams more than in Q1, 2009. Some 16.2 billion Drams
were collected as income taxes. The figure represented a 35.4% rise
from the first quarter of 2009. Also some 18.8 billion Drams were
collected as profit taxes and 6.7 billion Drams as customs duties.

Five billion Drams were collected as fixed payments.

According to the finance ministry, 26.2 billion Drams were collected
as mandatory social security payments, by 22% more from a year before.

Some 10 billion Drams were collected as non-tax revenues. The
government has projected to collect 742 billion Drams in revenues
this year and spend 935.5 billion Drams. The deficit is projected to
be 193.4 billion Drams. ($1 – 386.85 Drams).
