CAFESJIAN’S ISSUE

In today’s debate in parliament unexpectedly came to the fore the
question of the activities of the American philanthropist Gerald
Cafesjian. The Secretary of the ARF faction Artyusha Shahbazyan asked
the Minister of Culture about the conditions of the privatized 2 years
ago Hayfilm Studios by Cafesjian. Shahbazyan said that the owner does
not fulfill his accepted investment obligations and Hayfilm, in fact,
does not work.
Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan said that currently this issue
is being studied.
Then the question of the museum of the complex "Cascade" decided to
raise the secretary of the "Prosperous Armenia" faction Aram Safaryan.
The owner of the museum is also Cafesjian. Why construction works on
the cascade is not finalized, asked Safaryan. He said that there are
people who are ready to finish the job, and if Cafesjian has financial
problems, he should say this because there is nothing to be ashamed of.
Minister of Culture answered this question in the same way saying
that the problem is studied.
It is noteworthy that just a week ago Cafesjian sold its Cascade Bank
to Ameriabank.
