ArmInfo. The fact of Armenian Genocide does not need to be proved.

There are hundreds of thousand of evidences and documents affirming
it, Alexander Iskandaryan, Director of Caucasus Institute, said
at the Yerevan-Moscow TV-Bridge "Historical Memory and Realities"
on Wednesday.

He said that he has not met anyone outside Turkey who would deny the
fact of Armenian Genocide. "There are politicians who are against
recognition of Armenian Genocide not to damage their countries’
relations with Turkey. These politicians do not recognize the Armenian
Genocide for political reasons, but no one denies the fact of Genocide
behind the scenes and in private talks," the politician said.

A. Iskandaryan believes that no one uses the term "genocide" in
Turkey not to face any problems. If the fact of the Armenian Genocide
is recognized de-jure, it will be mentioned, first of all, that it
happened in the Ottoman Empire, in the country that no longer exists.

Second, the authorities of the Ottoman Empire and not the Turkish
people will be determined guilty, Iskandaryan said. He supposes that it
is difficult for the Turks to recognize the Genocide probably because
they cannot believe that their predecessors could commit such crime.
