"The amount of the territories protected in Armenia is close to the
international standards, around 12%," informed Aram Harutyunyan the
Minister of the Nature Protection. Last year two national parks have
been planted, some preservations, as well as Zangezur.

Concerning to the air pollution in some cities of the country the
minister said that the poisonous objects in the air are for several
times bigger than it is allowed.

"There are also some problems concerning the pollution, we have some
suggestions, but the most important thing is that we could realize
a correct monitoring for us to understand what kind of situation we
have," A. Harutyunyan mentioned.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
