United States has always been pursuing a balanced policy when it comes
to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Press Secretary of the US Embassy in
Baku, Terry Davidson, was reported as saying.

In an interview with the Voice of America radio Davidson said that
US has always come out with well-balanced initiatives over the
Nagorno-Karabakh issue and has always called on the sides to settle
the issue peacefully.

Davidson’s statement comes shortly after Ali Hasanov, Aliyev’s head
of public-political issues, told Reuters news agency that "the United
States does not implement policy towards Azerbaijan as a strategic
partner," and that’s why Baku might reconsider its policy towards
the United States."

"We believe the Americans should not only think of how to help
Armenia overcome the economic crisis, but as a co-mediator in talks
on Nagorno-Karabakh, Washington should first of all promote a solution
to the Karabakh conflict," Hasanov had said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
