ARMENIAN SPORTSMEN WIN 19 MEDALS IN EUROPEAN WEIGHTLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Lifting 432 kg in snatch and clean & jerk combination, Armenia’s
heavyweight Ruben Aleksanyan (+105 kg) won silver in the European
Weightlifting Championships, which finished in Minsk, Belarus, on
April 11.

Another Armenian sportsman Artur Babayan came fifth.

Russia’s Yevgeny Chigishev won the champion’s title, lifting 440 kg.

In all, Armenian national team came forth, winning 19 medals – 7 gold,
8 silver and 4 bronze.
