Events, including a lecture, followed by screening of a film "Armenian
orphan children’s prayer", were organised in the St Astvatsatsin
Church, Aleppo, by the Tekeyan Cultural Association to mark the
upcoming 95th anniversary of the 1915 Genocide.

The commemoration events have been starting in Aleppo since April 9.

Among them is a photo-exhibition by Samvel Karapetian, chairman of
the Non-Governmental Organisation, aimed at learning the Armenian
Architecture. The exhibition is reported to open on April 14. The
following day, on April 15, Samvel Karapetian will lecture on Western
Armenian culture.

Germanic-Vaspurakan Cultural Union has designed and published
calendars, setting the stamps depicting the Memorial for Victims of
the 1915 Genocide, and the Khachqar (Cross-Stone), dedicated to the
90th anniversary of the Genocide.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
