Any agreement between Yerevan and Baku signed without the participation
of Stepanakert in the frameworks of the Karabakh conflict settlement
can bring to dangerous results, thinks political scientist Alexander
Manasyan.

"Even if we sign any document we should say that it is signed just
by us and Stepanakert as a side can reject it. We shouldn’t take
the responsibilities and rights of the NKR on our shoulders and thus
stress that the problem is no only in ourselves," he explained.

"There should be underlined that the negotiations are interrupted by
the format which was decided by the OSCE and these discussions and
meetings are aimed at resuming the interrupted talks," he said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
