CEREMONY OF LAYING OF MONUMENT TO RUSSIAN OFFICERS IN GYUMRI

ArmInfo. Ceremony of laying of a monument to Russian officers was
held in the Armenian town of Gyumri on March 31. The exact copy of
13-meter monument of Boris Mikeshin was erected in 1909 in Kars. Later
it was exploded by Turks. The author of the new monument is an honoured
sculpture of Armenia Yuri Minasyan.

Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko, Gyumri Mayor
Vardan Ghukasyan, governor of Shirak region Lida Nanyan and Co-chairman
of "Matter of Honour" Russian-Armenian charitable organization,
engaged in the monument construction, Andranik Nikoghosyan were
present at the event.
