/PanARMENIAN.Net/ In connection with the 65th anniversary of the
victory in the Great Patriotic War Armenian veterans will be paid
compensation for their old deposits held until June 10, 1993 in
the Savings Bank of the former USSR. The decision was made at the
government meeting in Artashat (Ararat region).

"This issue was discussed in detail at the Republican Party and all
came to the conclusion that our moral duty is to give preference to
veterans," Armenian prime minister Tigran Sargsyan said.

He added that the decision is related to 3.9 thousand of veterans,
and in this regard the government anticipates the consent of the
whole society. The government considered urgent the relevant bill.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
