/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Among the CIS countries, the inflation rate in
Armenia has always been low, and by the end of 2010 the inflation rate
in the country would return to the level set by the state budget:
– 4 1.5%, said Gagik Minasyan, chairman of the RA NA Committee on
Financial, Credit and Budgetary Affairs of Armenia.

"Despite the fact that over the past two months inflation rate reached
2%, and over the past 12 months the rate was 8.8%, the inflation rate
in Armenia by the end of 2010 will return to the level projected by
the state budget," he told a news conference in Yerevan.

According to Mr. Minasyan, the government has clearly worked out
mechanisms to combat inflationary pressures, in particular, the
government would take the initiative to alleviate the social pressure
on the vulnerable strata of population in connection with the expected
increase in gas prices.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
