ArmInfo. Trying to connect the Czech village of Lidice with Khojaly is
like trying to connect Auschwitz with Mikheil Saakashvili’s actions
with respect to South Ossetia, Jana Mazalova, a well-known Czech
journalist, said in Yerevan, Wednesday.

A witness in the tragic events organized near Aghdam by Azerbaijani
nationalists, Mazalova said that unfortunately, the local authorities
of Lidice have not responded to the protest of a group of Czech
journalists, probably, because of their insufficient awareness of
the Khojaly tragedy. She added that she had kept silence for a long
time when reading the Azerbaijani false information, however, this
black PR of official Baku does not let her be calm as the Azerbaijani
fabrications exceed all the reasonable limits. Therefore she has
come to Yerevan to tell the truth about the events in Khojaly, which
have nothing to do with Lidice, and have no analogues either, said
the journalist.

To note, on February 26 the Azerbaijani embassy in Czech Republic
organized in the Memorial complex in Lidice an event dedicated to the
18th anniversary of Khojaly tradegy. The event covered an exhibition
prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a documentary about the
Karabakh conflict. The village of Lidice was stamped out of existence
by the fascists in 1942, and the population fell under terror.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
