Use of force or threats to do so is not a solution to Karabakh
conflict, Spanish Foreign Minister and EU Chairman-in-Office Miguel
Angel Moratinos said at the March 2 meeting with RA President Serzh
Sargsyan. RA President highly assessed current stage of Armenia-EU
cooperation and political dialogue, making a point of its further
expansion, RA Presidential press service informed NEWS.am.

"This visit proves EU’s strategic vision to expand relations with
Armenia," Moratinos noted, adding that high-level visits open new
chapter in EU-Armenia relations.

RA President and Moratinos discussed key issues of Armenia-EU
cooperation agenda, touched upon signing of free trade agreement,
relaxation of visa regime and the issues related to talks on signing
of association agreement.

The sides also discussed Armenia-Turkey reconciliation process,
regional security problems and peaceful solution to Karabakh conflict.

Sargsyan presented Armenia’s official stance over the mentioned
issues. "The diplomatic and peaceful solution to the issue should be
found," Spanish FM emphasized.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
