READING OF THE `YEAR OF THE ARMENIAN WOMAN’ PONTIFICAL MESSAGE AND ARS
REMEMBRANCE DAY

By the ordinance of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, on
Sunday, February 28th, 2010, the Pontifical message of H.H. Catholicos
Aram I on the Year of the Armenian Woman will be read in all Prelacy
Churches in place of a sermon.
Also on that day, requiem service for ARS members will be
offered in all churches.
On the occasion of the ARS centennial which will be
celebrated this year, by the ordinance of the Prelate there will be a
special collection plate in all churches to benefit the ARS and its
centennial celebrations.
The Prelate will preside over Divine Liturgy and the ARS
requiem at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino. Following Divine Liturgy,
the Prelate will conduct the blessing of madagh in memory of departed
ARS members.
The Prelate has released a message on these dual occasions
which will be published in community newspapers this week.

VESPER SERVICE AT THE PRELACY CHAPEL

On Saturday, March 6th, 2010, Lenten Vesper services will take place
at the Prelacy `St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen’ Chapel. The service
begins at 6:00 p.m.
Note that Divine Liturgy or evening services are offered
at the Prelacy Chapel on the first Saturday at every month.

FERRAHIAN SCHOOL STUDENTS VISIT THE PRELACY

On the morning of Friday, February 26th, 2010, Ferrahian School eighth
grade students visited the Prelacy, accompanied by teachers Azadouhi
Ghazarian, Seza Kurdian, and Rafi Hagopian.
Upon their arrival the students were escorted to the
`St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen’ Chapel where the Prelate led a prayer
service and offered Holy Communion. Very Rev. Fathers Muron Aznikian
and Barthev Gulumian participated in the service.
The students then headed to the `Dikran and Zarouhie Der
Ghazarian’ Hall for breakfast, followed by a tour of the headquarters.
The students returned to the hall where they performed a
cultural program of songs and dances.
The Prelate conveyed his blessings and message to the
students and presented them with mementos. Very Rev. Fr. Barthev
Gulumian spoke to them on the importance of Christian Education in the
lives of students. A question and answer session followed.

RAFIK HARIRI FIFTH ANNUAL MEMORIAL

Future Movement California has organized a memorial honoring the life
and vision of the late Prime Minister of Lebanon Rafik Hariri on the
5th anniversary of his assassination.
The memorial will be held on Sunday, February 28th, 2010,
at the Embassy Suites in Anaheim.
Pastor of Forty Martyrs Church Rev. Fr. Hrant Yeretzian
will represent the Prelate.

PRELATE PRESIDES OVER ANNUAL LENT LUNCHEON

On the morning of Wednesday, February 24th, 2010, the Prelate presided
over Sunrise Service at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale and delivered
his message.
The annual Prelacy Ladies Auxiliary Lent luncheon followed
at the adjoining `Armenak Der Bedrossian’ Hall.

Mrs. Hourig Abdulian welcomed the over 150 guests in attendance.
Keynote speaker Mrs. Tamar Seraydarian spoke on `Great Lent and the
Armenian Woman’.
The Prelate conveyed his blessings and delivered his
message to the guests.
Singer Vartouhi Avedikian participated in the cultural
program and a special Lent feast was offered.

PRELATE WELCOMES PROFESSOR HANS-JUERGEN FEULNER

On the afternoon of Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010, H.E. Archbishop
Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, welcomed to the Prelacy
Dr. Hans-Juergen Feulner, Professor of Liturgical Studies at the
University of Vienna.
Prof. Feulner conveyed to the Prelate information on his
recent endeavors, which includes ecumenism and inter-church affairs.
The Prelate in turn informed Prof. Feulner of the current and upcoming
activities of the Prelacy.

PRELATE ATTENDS 50TH ANNIVERSARY BANQUET
OF ARS `ANI’ CHAPTER

On Sunday, February 21st, 2010, the ARS `Ani’ Chapter of Montebello
celebrated its 50th anniversary with a banquet at `Bagramian’ Hall of
Holy Cross Cathedral.
The Prelate was in attendance, as were pastors of Holy
Cross Cathedral, Board of Trustees members, ARS Central and Regional
Executive members, and representatives of sister organizations.
The evening began with the invocation by the Prelate. The
Prelate also conveyed his blessings on the occasion.
A cultural program took place, and guests enjoyed a video
presentation on the chapter’s history.

PRELATE ATTENDS BURBANK YOUTH CENTER OPEN HOUSE

On Sunday, February 21st, 2010, an open house took place at the new
Burbank youth center to familiarize the community with the new
facility. The Prelate, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Gomidas Torossian,
visited the new center and was acquainted with the facility which in
the near future will house local organizations.
A fundraising banquet to benefit the new center took place
at Arbat Restaurant in the evening.
At the banquet, Rev. Fr. Gomidas Torossian read the
Prelate’s message conveying best wishes for the success completion of
the project.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD PARISH CELEBRATES
ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY

The first anniversary of the North Hollywood Prish was celebrated on
the evening of Saturday, February 20th, 2010, with a banquet held at
Anoush Restaurant in Glendale.
The banquet was held under the auspices of the Prelate and
was organized by the Parish Council.
Former Prelate H.E. Archbishop Yeprem Tabakian was in
attendance, along with parish pastor Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian,
Central Executive member Mr. Khajag Dikijian, and Executive Council
members.
The program consisted of remarks by parish representatives
and a cultural program of songs and recitations.
The Prelate was in attendance and conveyed his message on
this occasion.
