/PanARMENIAN.Net/ There is still a possibility that Turkey will
ratify the Protocols on normalization of relations with Armenia in
February or March, according to Karen Bekaryan, chairman of European
Integration NGO.

"Turkey is undecided on the fate of Protocols yet," he told reporters
on Wednesday.

"Meanwhile, the Armenian Genocide resolution will be a new political
leverage on Turkey," Mr. Bekaryan said, adding that he sees nothing
wrong in Armenia’s ratifying the Protocols ahead of Turkey.

As to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s speech in Chatham House,
the expert said it proved that Armenia is full of initiative in
regional processes.

The Protocols aimed at normalization of bilateral ties and opening of
the border between Armenia and Turkey were signed in Zurich by Armenian
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet
Davutoglu on October 10, 2009, after a series of diplomatic talks
held through Swiss mediation.

On January 12, 2010, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of
Armenia found the protocols conformable to the country’s Organic Law.
