Armenian National Congress Coordinator Levon Zurabyan doesn’t exclude
the possibility that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict might get out
of control. "The military-political balance is tipping in favour
of Azerbaijan, and the tension connected with the possibility of a
military solution is rising," he said, during a press conference today.

"Again, I have to consider that to be the result of this regime’s
activities. The fact that today they are making negotiations is, in
reality, the consequence of a changed military-political balance,"
said Zurabyan.

In the coordinator’s words, in military, economic and other resources,
Azerbaijan is more powerful than Armenia.

According to him, duirng the days of Armenia’s first president’s term,
the biggest achievement was that Armenia was able to achieve balance
in human, financial, ammunition and various other resources against
a greater opponent.

"That which happened after Ter-Petrossian’s resignation is completely
the opposite picture. Today, in that race, Armenia has lost…" said
Zurabyan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
