IRAN WELCOMES THE EFFORTS OF ARMENIA AND TURKEY TO ESTABLISH RELATIONS

On January 26 the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iran Edward
Nalbandian and Manouchehr Mottaki had a meeting in Yerevan.

Greeting the Iranian Foreign Minster, Edward Nalbandian positively
assessed the good-neighborly and mutually beneficial relations between
the two countries. The interlocutors stressed that the periodic
high-level contacts and reciprocal visits speak about the willingness
to further develop the cooperation between Armenia and Iran.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iran discussed a number of
bilateral, regional and international issues. Reference was made to
the latest developments in the Karabakh settlement process and the
normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations. Minister Mottaki
welcomed the efforts towards establishment of relations between
Armenia and Turkey.

Manouchehr Mottaki presented the latest developments on Iran’s
nuclear programs.
