YEREVAN, DECEMBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN. The macroeconomic indices show
that in September Armenia entered a stage of recovery. Prime Minister
Tigran Sargsyan said this at the December 25 press conference, adding
that in the first half of 2009 the indices of economic decline were
high, whereas in the second half the decline rates have slowed down,
as a result of which the economic decline makes 15% at the end of
2009 as compared to 18.4% early this year.

T. Sargsyan noted that retail trade grew this year compared to 2008
which, according to him, is conditioned by the cirumstance that
citizens started exhibiting a more cautious spending behavior.
