In his interview to Russian paper Vedomosti, Russian company Troyka
Dialog board chair Ruben Vardanyan, analyzing the company’s activities
in 2009, stated that this year cannot be considered profitable.

Nevertheless, Vardanyan expects to close the current year with a
positive outcome. "In any case, the year was a very good one for the
company. We fulfilled all our obligations, retained the strongest team
of analysts and still continue to conclude transactions. The clients
value how you express yourself in an unfavourable market. We didn’t
cut the salaries of those individuals who received amounts less than
3,000 USD.

"Mainly the salaries of top managers were cut. Still, their
salaries haven’t been recovered to the previous level. For example,
I practically don’t receive a salary, nor a bonus. This refers to
almost all the managers. This is connected with the fact that the
top-managers bear more of a responsibility than others; besides,
it’s a major savings. However, generally, we pay above the market
salary rate. This is established by the fact that many people wish
to be employed in our company," Vardanyan said.
