/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "Iran has acquired an authoritarian advocate
ready to defend it. The matter is not absolutely concerned with an
extremist, even if the latter may consider President Ahmadinejad
a reliable interlocutor. That’s not a naïve person. It may teach
political resourcefulness to anyone. Tehran received aid from a
moderate Islamic state, a western ally striving for Euro-integration.

It was Turkish Premier Recep Erdogan that decided to act in its
defense," Italian Corriere della Sera reports.

According to analyst Antonio Ferrari, Turkish Premier was inspired
by the dialogue strategy of U.S. President Obama who wants no more
conflicts or has just found himself face to face with domestic
problems and intensifying clashes with more active proponents of
secular state. That’s why in an interview prior to his visit to Tehran
he accused the West of "wrong and unfair" attitude to Iran. Besides,
Erdogan has accused five members of UN Security Council of Pharisaism
and wagged its finger at Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman
who allegedly threatened to carry atomic bombs to Gaza.

"As early as a few months ago, Israel was Turkey’s strategic partner.

That formal status is maintained, however bilateral relations continue
changing for the worse. Tension with Netanyahu government escalated to
a critical point after the ‘serenade’ to Iranian regime. May Turkish
Premier have given preference to pendulum policy? It normalizes
relations with Armenia but then shows the green light to Azeris who
haven’t settled Karabakh issue with Armenia. Erdogan offers to act
as mediator between Pakistan and Iran after Tehran being accused of
plotting terrorism against Pakistani Republican Guard. And now it is
whitewashing Tehran. Perhaps Turkey hopes that such policy contributes
to U.S. President’s success?" Ferrari asks.
