While in "Erebuni" hotel was being held the presentation of the
project of the "Dalma Garden Mol" trade and fun center, the owners
of the Dalma gardens were protesting outside.

"The settlers have problems and the municipality is aware of. At the
beginning of the year we have been in the office of the RA president
where they have assured us that the problems will be solved, but
till now no problem has been solved. Not a single compensation,
no questions of lands, no Dalma’s problem as a historic national
cultural has been regulated. 640 agreements of the landowners are
not satisfied", – said Ruzanna Ghazaryan.

R. Ghazaryan mentioned that the land of each landowner is around 4000
square km. The agreements of some of the landowners were to be ended in
2028. If they do not get the compensation they will apply to the court.

R. Ghazaryan informed that for the protection of the interests they
will apply to UNESCO as those gardens according to the historians
have been planted by the seeds of the grapes, and for the protection
of the trees they will apply to the Orhus Convention.

"Armenia has got many desolated areas, let them built it there,
they will even be blessed for that, but now they will built it with
courses", – mentioned R. Ghazaryan.

She also mentioned that she has been taken out from the presentation
of the project by breaking the laws of Orhus convention.

The decision of constructing the gardens of Dalma has been accepted
in 2004.

The territory has been involved into the list of the natural monuments
and in the list of the medieval monuments.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
