ARAMAC APPOINTS ANGACIAN CONNECTICUT STATE CHAIR

Washington, DC – Last week, the Armenian-American Action Committee
(ARAMAC), the grassroots arm of the Armenian Assembly of America
(Assembly), which supports community activism and anti-defamation
announced the appointment of Ms. Sevan Angacian as the new ARAMAC State
Chair for Connecticut.

Ms. Angacian graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelors of
Science, majoring in International Politics in the School of Foreign
Service, in 2008. While living in Washington, DC, she worked with the
Assembly in many capacities. She served as a liaison between ARAMAC-DC
and the Armenian student population in the nation’s capital, interned in
the Assembly office, helped grow the Congressional Armenian Caucus on
Capitol Hill, and represented the Assembly at the United Nations
Commission on the Status of Women.

"I look forward to serving the Armenian community in Connecticut in this
new capacity and continuing my activism on the issues we are each so
passionate about," stated Angacian.

Since moving to Connecticut, Sevan has received her Masters degree in
Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut. She continues
her studies there, working towards her Ph.D. in School Psychology.

Established in 1972, the Armenian Assembly of America is the largest
Washington-based nationwide organization promoting public understanding
and awareness of Armenian issues. The Assembly is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
membership organization.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
