OLD AND NEW MPS IN ARMENIA’S NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

Tert.am
16:55 05.10.09

Heritage Party Founder Raffi Hovannisian, who had submitted an
application, later withdrawn, to resign from his mandates, came to
the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia to participate in
the National Assembly’s regular four-day session. In his presence,
Parliamentary Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan announced that Raffi Hovannisian
had withdrawn his application to resign from his mandates.

Today, along with Raffi Hovannisian, two new MPs appeared at the
National Assembly. Ruben Gevorgyan was registered as a member
of parliament at the Central Electoral Commission and came to the
legislative body today instead of Rubik Harutyunyan from the Prosperous
Armenia Party. As already reported by Tert.am, Rubik Harutyunyan was
appointed Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations by decree of the
Armenian prime minister.

Hovhannes Sahakyan was registered as a member of parliament at the
Central Electoral Commission instead of Myasnik Malkhasyan from
the Republican Party of Armenia. Sahakyan also came to the National
Assembly today.

The National Assembly Speaker announced the old and new members of
parliament, and the other MPs welcomed their colleagues into the
National Assembly with applause.
