Arpi Vartanian: Armenia and Diaspora can’t exist without each other

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Pan-Armenian tour of RA President Serzh Sargsyan is
the right decision, said Arpi Vartanian, Armenian Assembly of America
country director of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

`Signature of protocols on normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations
is an important issue for all Armenians and it’s essential to hear out
all views,’ Ms. Vartanian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

`Diaspora is concerned. It would be strange if the President did not
meet Diaspora Armenians before signing such important papers. Armenia
and Diaspora can’t exist without each other,’ she said, adding that
President Sargsyan should be ready to hear any point of view.

Ms. Vartnian also remarked that majority of Diaspora Armenians stand
for opening of the Armenian-Turkish border.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
