YEREVAN, AUGUST 25, ARMENPRESS: Opinion Polling and Research (OPPOL)
program is being carried out in 15 countries including Armenia in
the sidelines of EU’s European Neighborhood Policy. Elmira Adamyan,
head of the Ameriabank’s public relations and communication team,
told Armenpress that the polls have been initiated by the union
created by "MWH Global", "TNS Opinion" and "Mostra Communication"
organizations. The polls are being conducted from March 9 and will
last until March 9 2011. The first round of the project which lasted
from May to August was the initial study of the opinion leaders. In
Armenia the initial research has been entrusted to "Ameria" company.

The main objective of the "OPPOL" program is to acquire more detailed
information on information sources of different target groups
living in ENPI (European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument)
countries, as well as on the degree of awareness and understanding of
the mentioned target groups about their (information sources) role in
EU and relevant countries. The issues of the program are also checking
of the availability of EU policy and activity or exchange of opinions.

Seven groups of opinion leaders have been separated which consist
of 100 participants among who are political figures, high-ranked
officials, heads of private sector, media specialists, clergymen,
representatives of non-profit organizations and scholars.

"OPPOL" program includes also public opinion polls. The studies of
the groups and the summarized assessment will be implemented on the
initiative of EU. On the basis of the assessment the program will
provide strategic and analytical support to the cooperation process
with European Commission, its delegations in ENPI countries including
Armenia.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
